My teta, Sohaila

On 4th September 2022, we opened the doors to Sohaila for the first time. Weird to me, because you can’t open the doors to your grandmother. My granny (teta, as we say in Lebanese Arabic), is also not a cook book, and we’re launching one of those for the first time on 10th September 2026 too… If my Grandmother had wheels, she would be a bike etc…

But in a way, teta is a restaurant, a cookbook, a full lifetie of flavour and funny and everything you could ever need to guide a business. Sohaila (سهيلة) means guiding light, so like… the name was clear when we came to open. Duh, we need a guiding light and a granny who inspires chaos in the absolute best way possible.

So here we are, about to share half a decade of recipes, wine, stories and spices with the world, guided by this ever present Sohaila
